KJRFC Fights to the End, Loses 17-22 to Fresno St

In a display of will to the very end, the Jayhawks came up just short to Fresno St in the D1AA national final. It came down to the last possession, and KJRFC fought like hell to come back and almost came out with a tie and possible win, but it just wasn't to be.


Again, to say I’m proud is an understatement. These dudes are special and have made all in Lawrence and all alum very proud. You guys showed what it means to be a good rugby team and to never give in, and it will be tough to replicate a team like you had this year. It can be done though and I know this program will continue to build. Well played today boys, you deserve a hero’s welcome when you all get back to Lawrence. Again, next fall come out and see these guys. They’re one of the best programs on campus, and have one of the best atmospheres in the Midwest for rugby.
