Current(ly Streaking): KC Current Win 6 in a Row

The KC Current are thriving. New digs, new turf, and new talent rising through the ranks have formed this club into a force to be reckoned with in the NWSL. Grit, determination, and toughness have also been apart of the mission to win KC's first ever women's professional soccer championship, and it's looking great so far. As seen in the title the Current are off to a 6 game unbeaten streak, their most recent win coming against the Washington Spirit 1-0. With October 1st being the last regular season game, there's still a bit of ways to go, but the Current have cemented themselves firmly in playoff contention.

This team deserves way more recognition than what they are getting. Great players such as midfielder Kristen Hamilton (4 goals), forward Lo'eau LaBonta (2 goals, 2 assists thus far, looked RAW on the pitch too I might add), and goalkeeper Adrianna "AD" Franch who made an incredible save to secure the most recent win have all made their mark on not only the Current but the NWSL, as there are these three and more in the running for All-Star voting. Looking over stats doesn't do this team justice though however, as I've seen some of the cheekiest moves in ALL of my soccer watching (which admittedly isn't a ton but still) made by these women. They're proving to be one of the most successful teams in Kansas City right now and are commanding not only the city's respect, but the soccer world's respect as well. Kansas City is hosting the World Cup in 2026, as we are known as one of the soccer capitals of the US. Show them we mean business, and support the Current as well as Sporting KC if you call yourself a true KC soccer and/or KC sports fan. Big plays deem big attention, and these ladies are making some of the biggest.
